Imagine feeling like you "just don't look pretty" anymore. Or just feeling like you'd like to change your image or your wardrobe. You don't know what to wear and you don't know where to start. Imagine buying lipstick after lip gloss and then getting them home just to find that it doesn't look that great. Add it to the pile... Imagine feeling frustrated with your wardrobe and wishing everything went together and it was a pleasure to get dressed. Most of us don't have to imagine, because that's our experience.
Now imagine you found out about color analysis. Maybe you read your mom's "Color Me Beautiful" book in the 80s and now you've seen a re-emergence on social media. Or maybe your friend had it done and you're curious. Imagine deciding to give it a chance.
Now imagine leaving your house with a completely bare face! No makeup, not even moisturizer or chapstick! Who does that? It may feel uncomfortable. But you walk into a beautiful studio with a big mirror, a comfy white leather chair just for you, something yummy to drink and a wall full of amazing, colorful drapes. And you're going to get to try them all.
Color is amazing in so many ways. Just seeing the turqoise of the Caribbean Ocean can make us feel relaxed. Seeing the purple of the first spring hyacinth or the bright yellow of the first daffodil can make us feel excited for what's to come. We KNOW when we're wearing a color that looks great on us that it resonates. We feel confident, We feel like ourself!
Once you sit down in the comfy leather chair, you'll receive a color lesson and explanation of the process. You'll put on a neutral grey robe to cover your clothing and a cap to cover your hair because we don't want the color of your hair (particularly if its artificially colored) to affect the colors we're going to drape over you. We'll be looking at the effects of color on your skin. I'll wear a grey robe as well.
Then the fun begins. The beautifully colored drapes come off the rack in a particular sequence so that we can begin to see the effects of the different dimensions of color on your face. Do you need a lot of color or a less saturated color? Does bright look better than muted? Blue is your favorite color, but which shade of blue favors you? We will look at things like under eye circles. Which colors make them appear darker or less pronounced? Which colors make your eyes pop and make you look like you had an amazing night's sleep? It's a process of elimination that takes approximately two hours. This one's better than that one. We will check and cross-check until we find the set of colors that's yours!
Once we've discovered your season, we'll apply some makeup with beautiful colors specifically chosen for you. Finally, you'll know which shade of lipstick and blush to buy! We'll remove the gray robe and cap and we'll put the luxury drapes on you. These are many of the colors in your season and you'll get to see how glorious you look in them.
You'll leave knowing what makes you shine and why. You'll get a color fan in your season to take with you when you go shopping so that you can find just the right colors in the store. You'll be amazed at how much easier it becomes to shop because when you walk into a store you'll know if the colors they're showing at that moment will make you look amazing. If not, you'll know and move on to the next.
Now imagine you've spent the time and learned the colors in your palette. You've purchased some new clothes and you feel amazing in them. You walk into a cosmetics store and know which colors to choose. You feel like yourself. You feel comfortable and confident. You feel beautiful!
This method of 12 season color analysis was developed by the highly acclaimed Certified Master Munsell Colorist, Kathryn Kalisz. Her system was known as the Sci/ART Method. I trained under Terry Wildfong of Your Natural Design who trained directly under the late Kathryn Kalisz. Terry also trained Christine Scaman of 12 Blueprints. There are many types of seasonal color analysis and many of them rely simply on warm and cool colors assuming that your undertone is either cool or warm. But that's not enough. Color is more complex than that. It's three-dimensional. In addition, two-thirds of people have a neutral undertone and there's a 66 percent chance you may be one of them. Only a 12 season system of analysis can accurately assess your season.
